Literacy Day

Education is that door which opens the whole new world for you. It is a great equalizer of our times that gives hope to the hopeless and creates a chance for those without. But making the wrong notion correct, Education isn’t about filling a pail, it’s about starting a fire.

We at Rhythms Kinderworld, are aware of the changing world in the 21st century and the skills that we require to inculcate in our children to stand tall and shine bright in the years to come. We, at Rhythms work on the holistic development of the children. Skills like Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Creativity and Innovation and social responsibility, have been inculcated in our students through different activities.

At Rhythms, we understand that that there are many little ways to enlarge your world and the love of books is the best of all. Hence, we started a little programme for our little ones, that is called, ‘Reading Rockets’, which provides our little readers with a platform to explore their interest in reading. We help children make friendship with books from the very beginning. Right from the early years we start creating that bond by creating reading corners in each class and by reading to the children, we bring them closer to the books and gradually they develop a habit of reading books through picture. As they grow and learn to read words and sentences, books according to the level of the child are kept in each classroom and the students start reading those books.

Besides, we also want to create thinkers and problem solvers, who would lead the world from the front in the years to come. So we exposed them to a lot of puzzles which help them develop brain. Studies have shown that doing jigsaw puzzles can improve cognition and visual-spatial reasoning and crosswords to enhance their vocabulary and increase their knowledge base.

As is rightly said, ‘It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it!! Keeping the above statement in mind, we also work upon the communicative abilities of the children, hence every month we organise an activity on ‘Word wizards’ class wise and later at the level of the school.

We at Rhythms Kinderworld, celebrated Literacy Day with great zeal and enthusiasm as we do it on every other day in the year as we believe, a child who read read is an adult who thinks.

Books to the ceiling, books to the sky,

My pile of books is a mile high,

How I love them!How I need them!

I’ll have a long beard by the

Time I read rthem
